This guarantee is designed to reduce buyer risk and ensure confidence when purchasing used cars through a trusted car trading platform from China.

What Is the 90-Day Buy-Back Guarantee?

The 90-Day Buy-Back Guarantee applies to used vehicles inspected under the 268V inspection standard and officially activated within the CBT system.

If, within 90 days after the transaction and ownership transfer, a vehicle is proven to be:

  • A Grade D accident vehicle
  • A fire-damaged vehicle
  • A water-damaged vehicle

and such conditions were not accurately disclosed in the official inspection report, CBT will:

  • Compensate the price difference, or
  • Repurchase the vehicle at the original transaction price

This mechanism provides buyers with additional protection when sourcing used vehicles through an escrow-supported car trading platform.

Scope of Coverage

The guarantee applies only when all of the following conditions are met:

  • The vehicle passed a valid 268V inspection
  • The inspection report did not disclose accident, fire, or flood damage
  • The inspection result is proven to contain certification errors

How to Activate the Buy-Back Guarantee

To activate the guarantee, buyers must complete the following steps:
  • Complete the 268V vehicle inspection and receive the inspection report
  • Finalize the vehicle transaction within 90 days of inspection
  • Activate the inspection report within the CBT system
  • After activation, the 90-day guarantee period begins from the date of ownership transfer

Each inspection report can only be activated once.

Coverage Criteria & Validity

  • Each inspection report is valid for 90 days from the issue date
  • The vehicle must not be a Grade D accident, fire-damaged, or water-damaged vehicle at the time of inspection
  • After activation, the buy-back guarantee remains valid for 90 days from ownership transfer
  • The guarantee becomes invalid if the vehicle is sold or re-registered again

Who Is the Insured Beneficiary?

Within 90 days from the issuance of the inspection report, the insured beneficiary must meet all of the following conditions:

    • Be the current registered owner of the vehicle
    • Vehicle transfer count after inspection:
      • Maximum 2 transfers (only 1 transfer for luxury vehicles)
    • Complete the ownership transfer with reasonable consideration
    • Successfully activate the inspection report within the valid period
    • Submit insured beneficiary information and pass CBT verification

    Successful activation does not automatically guarantee eligibility for claim approval.

    How to File a Claim

    If a buyer discovers a covered issue, the claim process is as follows:

    Claim Timeline

    • After initiating a claim, CBT will conduct a re-inspection
    • If inspection errors are confirmed, required documents must be submitted within 7 calendar days
    • Failure to submit documents on time will be considered a waiver of the claim

    Required Documents

    • Identity card or business license of the insured beneficiary
    • Written claim application
    • Vehicle transaction contract
    • Proof of payment
    • Vehicle registration certificate and transfer invoice
    • Original inspection report and 268V Inspection Protection Commitment
    • Evidence proving inspection errors
    • Odometer photos (for engine or transmission-related claims)
    • Any additional documents reasonably required by CBT

    Important Notes

    • Successful activation does not guarantee claim approval
    • CBT reserves the right to verify all submitted materials
    • Claims will be rejected if insured beneficiary conditions are not met
    • Vehicles that do not meet the “three non-compliance” criteria

    (non-accident, non-flood, non-fire) are not eligible for compensation or repurchase
